Message from the Principal

Brisbane Boys' College founder, Mr Arthur Rudd, believed that education was the key to human progress and in the more than 100 years since our school's foundation in 1902, a host of educators with flair and commitment have carried out the important task of moulding young men into gentlemen of honour; competent and confident adults, prepared to face the many challenges of a changing world.

The boys who are about to enter our college come with unlimited potential, and it is our responsibility as educators to nurture their God-given talents to enable them to achieve personal excellence.

My experience has been that when an adult shows confidence in an adolescent, that confidence is not just reciprocated, it is returned with interest. As Headmaster, I have the great good fortune to build on a wonderful tradition of achievement at Brisbane Boys' College and to encourage the next generation of our students to be the best people they can be.

- Mr Graeme McDonald (Principal).

Redefining the boundaries in boys' education

Where young men forge their own path

Brisbane Boys’ College is one of Australia’s most innovative and successful schools where generations have enjoyed the benefits of an extensive curriculum, outstanding facilities and caring community.

Brisbane Boys’ College is a GPS boys’ school with day students from Prep to Year 12 and boarding students in Years 4 to 12. As a boys' school, BBC is specifically tailored to meet the needs of young men as they progress through their education.

At Brisbane Boys’ College, we assist boys to become the thought-leaders of tomorrow; to be the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs and businessmen through the development of flexibility of mind, strength of character, social skills and a sound belief system.

As a school we deal with dreams. Dreams of parents who envisage what their sons could become and, even more importantly, dreams of boys who reflect on what they could achieve. The school your son attends will shape his life and BBC has the great privilege of playing a part in creating tomorrow’s world.

Open Day

Each year we hold a series of open days where we welcome students, their families and the community to explore our school and join us in special events.

But if you can’t wait and really want to see why Brisbane Boys' College is the choice of so many families then we are more than happy to arrange a personal tour. You’ll soon discover that BBC is so much more than simply a school, ; it is a life experience for students and their families.

By visiting on an Open Day, Open Morning or touring the school, you will learn more about the broad range of learning experiences offered – — from academia, internationalism and community, to amazing music, outdoor life and sport.

An outstanding educational experience awaits your son when he joins the ranks of many thousands of young men who have passed through the 'Portal' since 1902.
